Payroll Manager Assistant

Job Duties/Responsibilities will include:
To assist the Payroll Manager with the entire payroll function
Staff management – 10 payroll team
To ensure compliance with relevant legislation, internal company policies, procedures and controls
Handling wage queries
Train and develop the payroll team

 

Candidate Requirements/ Experience:
1-3 years proven experience working on Payroll systems and management of payroll personnel, working for a large employer
Excellent computer skills especially Excel
Matric
Working knowledge of PAYE legislation and income tax calculations, ETI laws, in-depth understanding of the CTC structure, able to draw up dummy payslips
The ideal candidate has assisted with a payroll change over project, understand how to move payroll data
A formal payroll qualification will be a strong advantage
Must be prepared to meet the demands of a strict and rigid timetable
Clean criminal record is essential
Solid judgment and decision-making abilities
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects
Must be able to work with all levels of employees
Well-developed interpersonal skills with ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong attention to detail

HR General Manager

Candidate Key Performance Outputs

  • Drafting of new employee contracts, post-registration, and Policies
  • Ensuring employees follow all policies and procedures
  • Assessing reports provided by the Site Agents and Contracts managers to determine employee performance and training needs
  • Payroll compilation and final Co-approvals between HR, Operations, and Finance
  • Improve and make changes in policies and procedures based on employee and company needs
  • Process and administer employee benefits i.e Medical Aid and Pension/Provident funds
  • Attending disciplinary cases with the CCMA and Bargaining council
  • Creating recruitment plans, interview schedules and evaluation standards in accordance with HR methodologies and labour laws
  • Monitor implementation of all HR policies and advise on HR activities, communications, requests, and documents created and received by sites
  • Overseeing exit interviews and procedures

 

Candidate Requirements/Experience

  • Higher National Diploma or Degree in HR Management.
  • 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources Environment.
  • Own Vehicle and Valid driver’s license
  • Computer Literate
  • Must be well-organized and have excellent time-management skills.
  • Be a successful negotiator and influencer.
  • Analyze information quickly with good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communicator to all levels of management in the company.
  • Be good at keeping the peace and managing conflict in the company.
  • Real listening skills and respect for keeping information private.
