General Maintenance Foreman

Candidate Key Performance Outputs

• Supervision and assisting with general building maintenance including gardens, grounds, buildings, furniture, machinery and equipment
• Supervision and assisting with cleaning of facilities including sweeping, mopping, etc.
• Supervision and applicable training of a team of general workers
• Daily use of Facility Maintenance Software
• Administration and stock control of cleaning and maintenance materials
• Interaction with external contractors, service providers and consultants

Candidate Requirements/Experience

• Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent qualification
• Experience in a similar position as a General Foreman
• Experience in supervision of subordinates
• Knowledge of general building maintenance techniques and procedures e.g. wet trades, carpentry, plumbing, electrical installations, etc.
• Knowledge of general cleaning techniques and procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills
• General knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Computer Literacy (MS Office and Facility Maintenance Software)
• Valid Driver’s licence
